Filming day

Overall in the two filming days I have done it has all gone well. I think I could have filmed for longer, but I got all the footage I wanted and all the shots from my storyboard featuring the actors. Both actors turned up to the filming which was really good as I didn't have to worry about doing it again on a different day and it also confirmed that I found reliable actors. Both days had different weather which turned out to be really effective as it looked like it was from a different day helping show the narrative of the protagonist re-visiting the past from the future. It was also great that on neither days it rained which was good planning as I looked at the weather forecast to see what it would be like to avoid any bad filming weather. The only bad thing is I might need to get some more shots if there isn't enough landscape shots.

Location: Permission for Church

Image
As I wanted to get shots of my protagonist in a church I had to ask for permission to film in my local church. to find this I went on the internet to find the website to email the Reverent of the church to get permission. With this I had to be really formal and make sure I was careful with what I said, as even though the music video I intended to create isn't anything against the church I wanted to make sure that I didn't offend them or use any inappropriate language about the church. At first she was on holiday and didn't respond and I received an email about when she would, however soon after she saw the e-mail and responded to it say that it was all okay as long as I showed her the script, I then told her it was based and movement and visuals. She then sent said that a local man called frank would be able to let me into the church to film. I then exchanged messages with him about the day.

Location: Permission for filming on farmland path

For this I had to find the farmer who owned the land if I could film on the path as that area can be seen as private property. I had to find out which farmer owned the land and once I had I went to his house to ask for permission. He confirmed that I could film there as the area of the land was near to a footpath that is open to the public. This location was great as it had a really dramatic view which really help emphasise the dramatic storyline and music in my video.

Props and costume

Image
Apart from the camera I will need to film the whole thing I will use little props as the video will focus most on the location and the actor/ costume. Although, there will be subtle props for the video to link scene and shot together. for example, the male protagonist will wear a watch that will be shown a lot in the shots. The watch will represent how time goes by and how time has gone past and that time is precious. Also when the young boy gets run over I think I'm going to have him hold a toy when he gets hit and they at the end of the music video when you see time ha gone on you will see the protagonist who killed him holding the toy to represent how he hasn't forgotten. For costume I will have the child wearing baggy lose clothing and make him look a tad scruffy so it implies further that he is an immature child and that he is a bit naughty and runs out to play when he shouldn't be. The protagonist will wear a red shirt to connote danger and this should foreshadow ...
